Sweating is Good for You
Sweating no doubt makes you feel sticky, smelly and gross right? Sweating it turns out is a good thing and usually a sign your body is healthy.
Sweat is mostly made up of water but it also contains minerals, sugar, ammonia, lactic acid and urea. Sweating releases toxins and impurities from your body. It is your body’s way of regulating your body temperature so you don’t overheat. When you sweat, you breathe faster, your heart rate increases, your circulation improves and your metabolism accelerates in an effort to bring your body temperature back to normal.
Because your circulation increases during sweating, many toxins and impurities can leave your body through your pores. Any impurities that may be on the surface of your skin will also be removed with proper cleaning leaving your skin soft and smooth.
As odd as this may sound….sweating can be a form of relaxation. Your body’s muscle heat up when you sweat which helps to release stress and fatigue brought on my muscle tension. Your heated body also generates more white blood cells which can strengthen your immune system.
The benefits of Sweating are many…here are a few:
- Improves Circulation
- Accelerates Metabolism
- Cleanses Skin & Pores
- Immune System Boost
- Improves Tone & Flexibility of Skin
- Contains natural antibacterial properties that destroy harmful skin bacteria
- Stress Relief
So the next time you work out, tinker in the garden on a sunny day or just relax in a sauna…think of the good that sweat pouring off you is doing for your body. 🙂
