We all know soda is terrible for us..especially diet soda!! Trying to lose those last few pounds is hard enough..and more than 8 glasses of water although so good for us…can be torture to drink. Flavored waters are making their way onto grocery shelves for good reason. Add a little flavor to water and it’s so much easier to drink. But why spend all that money and what are the nutritional  benefits of store bought water?! None really….

Drinking at least 8 glasses of water and eating water based foods like melons has enormous health benefits. Staying hydrated helps maintain your body’s fluid balance and prevents water retention and constipation.

Naturally flavored and infused water are becoming a weight loss favorite.

Here’s a favorite for you to try…

  • 2 liters Water
  • 1 tsp. grated Ginger
  • 1 Cucumber..thinly sliced
  • 1 Lemon…thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup or 10 small Mint Leaves…Spearmint or Peppermint leaves work too 😉
  • Combine all ingredients in a Pitcher or large Mason jar.  Place in refrigerator overnight to infuse flavors. You should drink the entire pitcher to achieve the maximum benefits of the water.

Cucumbers are low in calories, have diuretic properties and are high in fiber. Cucumber are also a water based food..great for dieting!! 🙂

Ginger naturally aids digestion. Ginger may also help you feel full reducing your appetite.

Lemons are rich in antioxidants and pectin fiber. Lemons have cleansing and detox properties to help remove toxins from your body. Lemons are alkaline forming aiding in weight loss.
